FUNDAMENTALS OF EMC QUALIFICATION TESTING AND ANALYSIS FOR THE NUCLEAR INDUSTRY

AMS’s 3-day EMC course will provide an understanding of the EMC guidance provided by the NRC and EPRI, discuss the national and international standards for EMC testing, and identify the characteristics of a system that make it either vulnerable to or responsible for electromagnetic interference (EMI) through both class lectures and hands-on demonstrations.
The course will be two full days on the 13th and 14th, and a half-day on the 15th. at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed to be beneficial for plant system and design engineers, Engineer of Choice (EOC) firms, system vendors, digital I&C designers, commercial grade dedicators, and any other personnel involved with the development or qualification of systems for nuclear power plants.

The Instructor

Dr. Chad J. Kiger is the EMC Engineering Manager at AMS and has been with the company since February 2006. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Tennessee. As an iNARTE–certified EMC Engineer and MIL-STD EMC specialist, Dr. Kiger has performed EMC qualification testing in nearly 100 nuclear facilities and equipment manufacturers across the United States and abroad, including data review and site assessments of the electromagnetic environment. He was the Project Leader for the revision to IEC 62003, “Nuclear Power Plants—Instrumentation and Control Important to Safety—Requirements for Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing,” and is a member of the EPRI nuclear EMC working group.

Course Fee

Register by the end of the year to lock in a rate of $1,695. The cost will increase to $1,995 on January 1st, 2024. This rate includes course materials, breaks, breakfast, and lunch each day as well as a course reception and dinner. Each attendee will be provided with the course materials as well as a certificate of attendance.
A free third registration will be offered for every two paid registrations from the same organization.
